Peace & powerful pages,
Reading and writing are being a hobby for me. I have gone through a lot of physical and mental problems. I got several surgeries and stretches, during all this reading and writing helped me as a medicine. Thanks for sharing the list. Looking forward to add on something from your list.
Hey Hiya Gorgeous,
First of all, thank you for sharing this great books list.
Now, I will read The Book of Veganish and then my 2nd no is Flowerevolution.
Thank you so much
The Book of Joy by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu with Douglas Abrams greatly helped me find some peace in the turmoil of today’s world. One of my favorites quotes from the Archbishop it “To choose hope is to step firmly forward into the howling wind baring one’s chest to the elements, knowing that, in time, this too shall pass.” Thank you, Kris, for what you are sharing with the world. I am new to your site but will be reading your book. I am an RN for 45 years and have been so concerned how my patients are inflicting illness on themselves through their choices. I will continue to try and encourage them to make lifestyle changes and take control of their own health.
Most of your stuff is for women. Have anything for guys?
Hiya 🙂
some books are indeed life changers. there are some, that absolutely changed my life forever. top of this list is for sure “Ask and it is given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. also life changing to me : Marianne Williamson “Return to Love”, Jean Liedloff “The Continuum Concept “, Bruce Lipton “The Biology of Believe”, Anita Moorjani “Dying to be me” and Thorwald Dethlefsen “Schicksal als Chance” (in English “faith as an opportunity”, but i don’t know if the book has been translated into English)
and of course many books by Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer.
And of course, especially as a vegan and someone who is aware of and very interested in the importance of nutrition for a healthy and happy life, I really appreciate your work, georgous Kris
XOXO from Vienna
I knew every since I was a little girl that I had to help. It was a conversation I’d have frequently with Jesus, as I fulfilled my punishments on my knees, I prayed, I was down there anyway. When as a child I saw Jesus depicted in the movies dying on the cross, which was confirmed for me every day in catholic school, I couldn’t stand his suffering so I volunteered. I’m pretty sure that I chose this particular life path before birth, but I sure up’d the ante volunteering to take some of the pain for him. Abusive childhood, runaway teenager on the streets of NYC, group homes, foster homes, domestic violence, PPSDP and all that entails.. etc. I have the experience under my belt to understand pain. In Austin, 2014 I saw both you and Gabby at the I can do it conference, something in me began, a work that would not be undone, I could never go back. I dropped into a two year severe depression (never encountered that before or after) in and out of hospitals with suicidal ideation. Got out of the last hospital almost a year or so ago, decided to take my dad up on the offer of coming to PR, to ‘think’, ‘reset’ etc. got here, with all of my courage in my clenched fist, petrified, fresh out of the abyss, saw Gabby’s book on Amazon, preordered it in less than five seconds with no premeditative thought, it spoke to me. I’m on my 3rd read and it feels like ‘home’. You know, you’re a reader (smiles) when you ingest information that your soul already knows, just hasn’t made it to this life’s incarnation yet. So yes, I get it, the universe has my back, and when I asked Universe/God/dess in 91 as a young mother, why I was here in this lifetime if it was all going to be pain, and I heard a few words.. yup he/she meant it, and I now trust that the universe has my back and always has, although in the midst of horrific situations it’s hard to believe.
The Universe has your Back was the last piece of the puzzle I’ve been working on for a very long time. Now I am implementing everything one step at a time. We’ll see where the Universe delivers me.
Thank you for being you! Keep shining you ARE making a difference!! Sat Nam siSTAR!!!
Another book that I found fascinating is “Radical Remission” about all of the various ways people have taken charge of their health to address cancer. Also, a book that I keep on hand for reference is “Falling Awake” by Dave Ellis. The chapter “Choose Your Conversations” itself has been a life-changer – helped me become much more aware of the conversations in my head and with other people, and why I do or do not want to stay engaged: is this conversation life-affirming or damaging, co-dependent or supportive, needlessly depressing or inspiring, . . . what’s my intent?
Bruce Lipton’s Biology of Belief turned my world upside down.
Or rather right side up.
These books look interesting and I’m excited to read them! I have tons of book suggestions of my own but let me suggest two here – the Zero Waste Home by Bea Johnson for anyone that is searching to live more sustainably and My Life With the Saints by James Martin for anyone that needs to be spiritually uplifted.
I am going through a cancer phase in my life right now ( 3 surgeries, convalescence, no radiation or chemo yet), and I am reading an extremely powerful book. It’s called “Anatomy of an Illness” by Norman Cousins, and I cannot stress how valuable his insights are to my recovery!!! Please, a must-read for anyone going through any type of illness.
Well, I have to say that I recommend all of your books to people on a regular basis. I have Stage 4 breast cancer and I absolutely love your books. They have helped me to change many things in my life and I believe have helped me to keep fighting! Thank you!
Thank you, Deb! Sending you love. xo, kc
You seem to know when I’m feeling down and you always bring me back up with your inspirational words! Thanks for the information!
Oh Kris, I totally agree…books have the power to change your life! And as much as I love my digital devices, to me there is something very comforting about snuggling up with an actual book. I consider myself a life long learner, and books have always played a big part in that. The first three books are already on my list, the second two I hadn’t heard of. One of many life changing books for me was “Wishes Fulfilled” by Wayne Dyer. Also “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod. One of the life changing tips I got from Hal was to write in my books. I used to think I had to keep everything nice and perfect. He talked about underlining, highlighting, doing whatever you need to do to reinforce what you are learning. Another great tip was that if you really love a book and find it helpful, reread it, maybe right away. You will pick up even more the second time around. I also thing it is so important to take the time to implement what we learn. Sometimes I am in such a rush to get to the next book that I don’t take the time to implement what I just learned. Thanks for all you do Kris!
I have had a few books really shift and change my mind, hence my life. The first of which was “the four agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. His “Mastery of love” was also very powerful for me. The most recent book I have read that has shifted me is “the only little prayer you need” by Debra Landwehr Engle
I love to feed my mind with positive messages!
Love The Four Agreements! Thanks for your recommendations. xo, kc
This email is great- i want to read all these books. Thank you
