I first heard of Kris in 2005 when I had a tumor removed from my thyroid. Since reading Crazy Sexy Diet last summer, I feel like my life has indeed made “an auspicious shift” towards health and peace. Before I began, I had a small jar of ‘shit pickles’ – high blood pressure, cystic breasts, weight to lose, worry, etc… I transitioned from vegetarian to vegan, and I now start each day with my green juice and rarely miss a day. I am dry brushing, taking supplements, eating more delicious veggies than I ever have before, staying away from gluten, sugar and processed foods, drinking lots of water, meditating, practicing yoga and exercising. Self care isn’t just doing all those things, it is caring for myself by nourishing my body and my mind, simply through the choices I make on a daily basis. The outward, more obvious benefits, like losing 35-40 pounds, clearer skin, stronger nails and shrunken cysts (At the last ultrasound the technician said that they had almost completely disappeared!) are fantastic, but what truly makes me giddy are the differences I feel at a deeper level. My mind is clear, I fear less, I experience more compassion, I feel constant gratitude for things that once seemed banal, I am more aware of my thoughts, consciously choose positive, kinder thoughts and I like myself!
