How to Manifest (video)

Hiya Gorgeous!

We’ve all got wishes, dreams and desires. Maybe they’ve been hanging out in your mind for years, waiting to get noticed. Or maybe you think about them all the time—but you don’t know how to make them a reality.

That’s why today I want to talk about one of my favorite topics: How to manifest!

Get this, our thoughts have the power to create our reality.

Really take that in. Pretty nifty, right? That’s why we want to point our thoughts in the positive direction of your soul’s desire. Because on a practical, day-to-day basis, what we think, how we feel and the energy we put out in the world, all contribute to what we get back.

So the goal of manifesting is to align our thoughts and energy with the energy of what we desire. Then the next step is to both take action and believe that what we want to call forth is on its way.

Here’s a fun example from my own life:

Before I was a full-time wellness warrior, I was an actor and a dancer. Back in those days, I had this big, stay-up-all-night-thinking-about-it dream to work at the Sundance Theater Institute. This was the gig to get—and I was up against some pretty fierce competition.

So, I wrote my dream down where I’d see it every day. Each time I looked at it, I imagined it had already come true. I let myself dive in and run wild with that vision.

I saw myself kicking up my heels and flexing my creative muscles on that dazzling stage. And then, (while my dreams were percolating out in the universe) I took all the jobs I could get and dedicated myself to perfecting my craft so I’d be ready when the opportunity came along.

I bet you can guess what happened next. One magical, wonderful day… there it was. My dream!

(To learned exactly what and how it happened, don’t miss my latest video.)

It’s living proof that our thoughts have the power to create our reality. I manifested my dream with those powerful thoughts (and a whole ‘lotta elbow grease and belief) and so can YOU.

Haven’t tried this at home? Fear not, honey! Learn how to manifest by pressing play.

In this lil’ ole video, you’ll learn:

  • How to get clear on what you want
  • Feel what it feels like to embody your dream
  • Take inspired action
  • Find trust that your dreams are coming true

I remember reading one of your articles where you mentioned the e squared book by Pam grout. Curious, I read the book and decided to make such a random request of the universe to see if there was some merit in the idea. I asked the universe for a purple elephant, within a few months my mother in law gave me a fridge magnet of a purple elephant. This absolutely blew my mind! I’m currently manifesting a more energized, healthier body free from disease.

Hey Kris: Thank you for sharing. Your presence and positive attitude is much appreciated. In the early 80’s I read Shakti Gawain’s book creative visualization , and the fabulous journey of believing and manifesting had begun. I had no energy on the time line but intuitively felt it would all arrive at the right time and it did. I got away from a lot of this during the years of my marriage. Now divorced, finding the person I was and incorporating many wonderful pieces back into my life. This morning started rough with financial pressure’s and I went to email hoping for replys to a couple of jobs i applied for but nothing yet. What did come up was an email from Christine Northrup about your class. After seeing your video- IT IS TIME! So here it is: I Carol will honor the gifts I have and share them with others as a running and fitness coach. I enjoy financial abundance and am debt free! I have an expanding awareness of my own hearts desires, strength, compassion and return to my knowing when I get off course. To all others on this path I believe that there is a positive energetic connection between all of us. As we are lifted up , it lifts up others. Radiant joy to all. Namaste’

I’m manifesting building an organic wellness retreat on the west coast of Mexico for newly diagnosed cancer patients and cancer patients who have sought western treatment but who are now looking for options. I’m designing this place to be one that gives them support, education, resources and a place to tune inward – on alternative cancer therapies, nutrition that will help them fight the disease and elevate their immune system, hands-on cooking classes (accompanied by eating classes! 😉 ), yoga, resources to tap into once the get home, etc. This is a biggie for me. I’m 24 months in and it’s starting to take shape. Thanks for your video Kris! Every single time I read or watch something you’ve created, it resonates with me and I move forward. <3

    • Cindy Lou says:

That is brilliant and beautiful! After I was diagnosed with cancer I hoped for such an experience. For years I have wanted to create a yoga retreat embraced by nature, offering d healthy meals, meditation, writing/journaling sessions, and other healing modalities. I feel the joy of having it come to fruition at times. I felt that same excitement and awe when I read about what you are manifesting would love to connect if you’re interested.

  12. Dominique Buffet-Jackson says:

I want to turn my dream into reality!

My dream? It’s to have my book: “Nestor and me, the food addict” published in English-speaking countries.
Yes, it’s me, “the” food addict, but one who has enjoyed over thirty-five years of recovery, while maintaining a stable weight, without using food as a crutch, and now happily following the CSY food plan.
What about Nestor? Who is he? He’s this crafty little monkey clinging to my back — always urging me, no matter what, to: “Eat, Eat, EAT!”.

How does Nestor operate? Or, more importantly: how can I fire him — in other words, get him off my back — and become physically, mentally and spiritually able to fully enjoy a free and happy life?
These are the questions my book sets out to answer, along with teaching self-esteem, developing healthy thoughts, showing how to heal past wounds and to practice forgiveness (even from sexual abuse). As there is no miracle cure, the book also explains how to prevent a relapse, and should it happen, how to get out of it both wiser and stronger.

The hope, freedom, joy, experience, strength, and energy that I now possess, are so fulfilling, that I just had to share these gifts.
By contrast, overeating and anorexia, are prisons. Prisons that kill its prisoners, with Nestor as the worst prison guard one could imagine.
That is why I felt it was my mission to write “Nestor and me, the food addict” to touch the lives of as many of Nestor’s prisoners as possible to let them know that there is HOPE: recovery is really within their reach.

It is THE book I wish I had been able to find at the time, to guide me out of my Nestor’s clutches, and to provide me with the appropriate tools for recovery on all levels. As no such book existed, I decided to write it myself.
This complete recovery guide, with a touch of humor to dedramatize the disease, has already enabled thousands of people, in French-speaking countries to free themselves from the bondage of their dependency, to be born again and start a new life.

My dream today is to have “Nestor and me, the food addict” become a beacon of hope and recovery for English-speaking readers as well. With this in mind, I have retained my publication rights for all English speaking countries.

My challenge is now to find an agent who understands the eating disorder problem. Any suggestions?
Ideally, I also dream of getting an introduction to Hay House. It is true that I would feel very much at home in the Hay House family, with you, and some of the other authors, who enabled me through their books to become the person I am today. I believe that Hay House is truly in harmony with my mission, and very much in tune with my vision of providing HOPE.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you may wish to provide

P.S. Available upon request: the French version of “Nestor, la bouffe et moi” and the first four chapters and the table of content already translated into English of “Nestor and me, the food addict”

    • Michaela says:

When I was younger I lived in France and suffered terribly from an eating disorder. I just fell head-over-heels in love with the fabulous French food and wine which provided me with a place to find refuge and comfort when I felt down.

I simply adored the gorgeous chocolate desserts, the rich and creamy sauces, the glorious cheeses, the lovely melt-in-the-mouth, buttery patisserie and, of course, the pounds just piled on which made me absolutely depressed so I would start stuffing my face again.

I was locked in a vicious circle and could not escape.

I realised I had become a hostage in a prison of my own making – I became desperate and felt suicidal. I tried everything from fasting, crash dieting, low-carb regimes but every attempt I made was always followed by more binge-eating.

Nothing worked for me – I was at my wits’ end when a friend told me about a French book she had read about a little monkey called “Nestor” and how the book had really help her realise that overeating was a condition that you could distance yourself from by pinning the whole thing on this malevolent little creature. The idea sounded a bit far-fetched but I thought I would give it a go so I bought the book.

      IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER!

Discovering Nestor and his nasty little games gave me the confidence I needed to get the pesky little monkey off my back for good.

Dominique Buffet-Jackson is a genius and her off-the-wall idea that you could pin it all on the monkey really works. I hope her dream comes true and millions more people will discover this amazing method because, believe me, IT JUST WORKS!!

God bless you Dominique, you have totally SAVED MY LIFE and I am eternally grateful to you.

    • Ellen says:

I have known Dominique for 40 years and even though I don’t have an eating disorder myself, I have also admired her dedication to doing the work that is needed for dealing with this complicated problem. Her relentless focus and hard work is truly impressive.

  14. Andrea says:

I absolutely love that I came a cross this today. I will be honest, transitioning careers has been a challenge.. but I recently ran into the most amazing potential boss online.. I ran into his work and boom.. it lead to his company/ a free seminar and me connecting with him on twitter. (And it hasn’t been smooth sailing.. I got so excited when he emailed me that I sent an email with a typo. And he said he wouldn’t recommend me attending a conference all the way In london on my own buck.. but that he would message me if and when he visits NY…. so as you see it’s been a a wave of surprise and uncertainty/vulnerability) I am trying to manifest me working for a mindset like his… and not loosing faith!!! ( I’ll take it that the specifics don’t just come to us we have to have a vision yes?)
Much much love!!! (Kris Carr your work is absolutely amazing, thank you for being you!) – Andrea

  15. Elizabeth says:

Thank you for this video. I think the hardest thing for me right now is getting clear on what I want. I’ve never had any big dreams. The main thing I want for myself right now is to be disciplined enough to stick to a workout schedule and eat healthily, which has been a struggle lately and I’m always hard on myself when I screw it up – changing this habit of being hard on myself is the toughest. I’m trying to say affirmations, meditate, think positively. And my husband is totally turned off to this “manifesting” thing because he grew up in a super hypocritical Christian home where that faith caused him more pain than good. He’s fine with me exploring my own spirituality, but he’s so closed off to it which can cause confusion. So clearly I’m struggling right now, need to change my thinking/feelings, take more action, be nicer to myself. And maybe surround myself with more positive people who believe in this as well.

  16. Sue says:

Hey beautiful people! I’m manifesting getting the job that I interviewed for today. Actually, today was my second interview for the position. I’m super excited!!!!

  17. LaTonya Stephens says:

I want a home improvement shove on a major channel

  18. Karen says:

There is a dark side to the law of attraction and manifesting for me, and I have had a lot of trouble with vicious self-blame when something unwanted occurs or the wanted thing doesn’t happen. I had become afraid of every negative thought and obsessed over how I was “vibrating.” I do like the tips presented in this video, and for me I also need to believe that there may greater forces (Divine Intelligence?) at work that are determining what happens and how, rather than just what I’m thinking and feeling being the only determinants of what takes place.

    • Liis says:

There is a really good aspect on this, by Marianne Williamson. Feel free to listen to her videos on YouTube. She talks about the misconcepts our(?) generation of new age has about manifesting, and trusting the divine through becoming the best self that understands how miracles in life work. That you don’t always have to get what you want. Because “now” everyone is about making God (force, spirit, …) be like: “This is what I want.” Whilst trusting & relaxing gives way better opportunities. Don’t have to be so fixed, makes a person sick 🙂 But there is a gentle way to want!

  19. Beans says:

I have lost my job. I don’t want to just work somewhere. I KNOW where I want to work. I want to work in a Naturopathic office as an admin so I can meet like minded people and be able to talk about natural cures and medicine freely. I have applied to offices but so far no openings. These are the places I want to work. I want an opening to positivitly come up for me in an office close to home, work during the day from mon-friday and make a good living wage. I want to work somewhere where I can help support people down natural paths. I want to work in the naturopathic work. This is what im trying to manifest for me.

  20. Marlayna says:

I am manifesting first and foremost glowing, vibrant, fit, health! My body disease and addiction free. Second I’m manifesting my book completed and a successful launch. With out Kris Carr, B-School, and MarieTV I wouldn’t even have had the courage to start.

  21. Lisa Roberts says:

Hi Kris – This was a fabulous video. I have been a big believer that the universe is there to support us and doors open wide when you open yourself up wide! I am a cancer thriver and your first book was a huge help to me when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer. I am doing great, but fighting off some pesky little mets. I have been doing a lot of writing and want to get my message out to the world! I will be in your session in Toronto for the Hay House University. I have been (already!) manifesting that I will get a chance to meet you. Perhaps someday I can show you my work! xoxo

  22. Dawn Engler says:

Love Esther! I manifested an Alaskan Cruise one year with the group! OMG, THUD amazing trip. My partner thought I was nuts to think we could pull it off. I did a lot of the steps above and that really helped.
But isn’t amazing how life manages to turn the canoe upstream? Time to focus and turn that baby around again!
Thanks as always for your timely stuff!

  23. Marissa says:

I’m manifesting getting off of my daily oral chemo drugs that I have been told I will never be able to stop taking. And for my lungs to be whole, perfect, complete. I already got my brain whole, perfect, complete!! Also, an organic vegetable garden to grow the greens for my green smoothies, even though I live in a terrible growing climate, lol. I’m sure I could grow Swiss chard & prob my own dandelions ?

  24. Therese says:

I want my track to be on Billboard. That’s what I’m manifesting! I have torn down almost every negative thought-wall around it but still have one left, that I don’t deserve it. There’s this lil’ old lady on my shoulder saying: ”Don’t you think every musician wants to make it to Billboard?? You are so shallow! Billboard is’nt the only way to get your music heard you know! You just want the glory! You are so spoiled!” She’s so angry with me!

    • Linda says:

      Therese,

That “lil old lady” on your shoulder is just your “inner critic” telling you that you don’t deserve it and are “shallow”, etc. DON’T LISTEN TO IT! You could try EFT tapping about not feeling like you deserve it. If you aren’t familiar with tapping, go to “TheTappingSolution.com”. Thousands of people have been helped by tapping. Good Luck!!

      • Therese says:

Thank you Linda! Yes I will def. try it. I did it once when I met a snake and could not ralax for days – it helped! Thanks ❤️

        • Linda says:

          Therese,

You’re welcome. I wish you the best of luck. You DO deserve it! I know you can get your track on Billboard once you tap that inner critic into submission! LOL

  25. kd says:

Hi Kris — awesome video; thank you! Here’s a story of manifesting success I’ve experienced: We needed to find a good high school for our daughter near our home but the only school she was eligible to go to was the public high school which was in terrible shape. A private school near us was super expensive and we had a lot of debt and only one income. I started to work on my thoughts and found I had a lot of negative thoughts about money, rich people, etc. Becoming aware of them — and how they were blocking me from abundance — I began to see these things in a new, positive light. I also started reading up about personal energy & manifesting, and my daughter and I both began doing personal energy experiments and found they really worked. We got very excited about what was possible. I screwed up the courage and applied to enroll my daughter in the private school with no idea how we’d pay tuition. A few months later, out of the freaking blue, we learned that our income was doubling — and it had nothing to do with increased work loads/hours/stress, etc. A complete miracle! Our daughter is now in her 3rd year at the private school and is receiving an awesome education with 100 percent support of her passion for art. She also found a new & inclusive circle of friends. I’m now using these same practices as we shop around for a great art college. Wishing the best for all of you as you head out manifesting your dreams!

  26. I manifested the singer Jason Mraz to become a partner in my company! I had met him backstage at a show in 2009 and thought what an amazing person he was and how I’d love to be connected with him one day, though I didn’t know how. Flash forward to last year when I put out a call for investors for Shift Bars and an old friend offered to send him and his wife the information. I immediately ordered some avocados from their farm and put the postcard with their picture that came with the order on my fridge. Every time I passed it, I blessed them both and trusted we would work together someday. Six months later, after several emails, they came on board and I’m heading to his show next week so we can film spots for our social media campaign. Conscious manifestation works!!!!

  27. Jessica says:

I manifest that I want to share the rest of my life with a partner I love and he loves me back. A partner who will not be scared of the objective difficulties of my life but he ‘ll trust me as I ‘ll trust him too in order to share our everyday life together.

  30. Theresa Byer says:

    Good morning!
    A few years ago…I was gifted the book…The Secret…
I used the Principles of the book…trusting, envisioning and expecting.

I had been ill a few years prior…hospitalized. No insurance.
As the hospital did take care of me…I set up payment plans with Drs. and the hospital.

I paid all of the Drs. in full.
I continued to pay the collection company the hospital contracted to ensure I faithfully paid.
I envisioned that over $10,000.00 remaining balance. I had paid about $5,000.00 of the original $15,000.00 debt.

The week after I prayed, envisioned and remained hopefully grateful…I received a letter from the collection company with a check for $50.00 that I had overpaid the account.
    I was in grateful tears.
    I shared it with many.
Thank you for reminding me to continue the manifesting.
I had tried it recently…God is still working on it!

    Blessings!!!

  31. Vicky says:

I have big dreams and desires. I don’t mind putting in the hard work. But the people around me and the society make me so stressed and disappointed. I’m very sad right now. But I feel a bit calmer thanks to your soothing voice and gentleness. I wish everyone I meet were like you.
