Howdy Wellness Warrior!

Today kicks off the first in a series of short, fun and sass-o-matic vlogs. I’ve missed connecting with you so much, but I’m back in the crazy sexy saddle and ready to share my wellness tips and adventures once again. Lots of people ask me how I start my day. To be honest, it’s never the same, which is why it’s so exciting! Here’s a sneak peek of one of my current sources of inspiration, Cheryl Richardson‘s Self-Care Cards. I have many decks to choose from but these days Cheryl’s are speaking to me LOUD and clear. As my mental and emotional space changes and grows, I shift my morning spiritual practice to meet my soul needs. I hope the wisdom helps you as much as it helps me. Who doesn’t love a dose of self-care, self-love, how-to? I sure do.

    I totally trust your inner guidance for topics, but if you are looking for “food for thought” (pardon the pun) but I recently returned from Hippocrates and have gone raw, so I love thoughts on the raw diet, as well as how to incorporate exercise into your day (not yet a habit for me).

  13. Hi Kris! I have been eating/drinking the greens for a bit now and have worked up a pretty good elevator speech for those who ask about the kale colored meals I bring with me wherever I go. But I’m looking for a few more thorough reads on why it’s crucial to balance the body’s PH level and choose this healthier lifestyle in general. Would a vlog on what you would consider a starter bookshelf (books, media, other resources) for the newbie juicer/vegan/health enthusiast be possible?

    Hi Kris…. love the vlog! It really touched home with me cos I’m having my last chemo today and I’ve been finding the chemo sessions (oddly!) relaxing ‘cos they’ve been forcing me to take “me” time… I was just thinking that it shouldn’t take that for me to create some “me” time!! Great idea about the mini vacation… also love your books/ website :)

  21. Your Vlog timing couldn’t be better for me! I have been following your story since your doc. and am literally starting my own vlogs in the coming weeks so to be able to watch yours from the grassroots stage will be inspiring.

    My topic question is:
    For those of us that are faced with the challenges that go with living in areas that are slow on embracing this shift and culture, how do we cope with those moments of self doubt and pressure from old school mentality? In some ways it requires that much more energy to work around an outdated system. How do we keep the engine-room for our beliefs stoked with out burning out.

    Great question. I will mull that one over deeply. The first thing that comes to mind is faith. I trust myself and my knowledge (because I have done the work) so it’s impossible to undermine it. When old school mentality resists, lashes out, puts my ideas down I simply let the negativity roll off my back, no issues in the tissues. And I do this with grace – no pointing fingers or judgment. It’s never easy to pioneer new ways of living but it’s really worth it in the long run. This is why rest, rejuvenation and morning practice are so very important. I strengthen myself daily by tapping into my Divine energy. Does this make sense? I think we all take ourselves too seriously – it’s only kale for gosh sakes! Well, it’s not but you know what I mean, right? Love your ideas. xo

    I wouldn’t ask for ANYONE to have cancer…..but if it wasn’t for that dreadful visitor chances are all of us would never have met! So there are a few good things that cancer brings into our lives!

    I feel very blessed again to see your sweet smile and sparkling eyes….another video! Hip! Hip! Hooray! Because I have SO worn out the others you have blessed us with. I play them over and over for inspiration and courage.
    I praise your simple manner and values…a simple pint jar
    for your smoothie, right up my alley! Nothing showy about you and that’s what helps us ALL relate with each other. My hubby has got quite smitten with you also. He watches your videos as much as I do. Of course, he’s the one with the ‘C’ visitor in his life right now. I have celiac and hishimoto dis-ease. So we travel our yellow brick road together…taking turns carrying each other. And with your expert help and uplifting attitude and terrific smile….it sure helps lighten our loads!

    You rock! You are so…. inspirational! Breast cancer runs in my family, even though I am over 50 and lucky enough not to have gotten cancer I am actively trying to take charge of my health. Change is hard. I drink some raw smoothies and over the last 6 months have given up dairy entirely and only have 2 meat meals a week. I am in a cholesterol program and the numbers changed drastically (my doctor cant believe the change) the last 3 months when I seriously cut back on meat. So between no dairy and almost no meat I will continue on this path. Your short-n-sasy vlogs will add and additional inspiration so I can keep this up!

Do you have tips for slowing down at night? I have a hard time falling asleep because I have so many thoughts running through my head.
