Howdy Wellness Warrior!

Today kicks off the first in a series of short, fun and sass-o-matic vlogs. I’ve missed connecting with you so much, but I’m back in the crazy sexy saddle and ready to share my wellness tips and adventures once again. Lots of people ask me how I start my day. To be honest, it’s never the same, which is why it’s so exciting! Here’s a sneak peek of one of my current sources of inspiration, Cheryl Richardson‘s Self-Care Cards. I have many decks to choose from but these days Cheryl’s are speaking to me LOUD and clear. As my mental and emotional space changes and grows, I shift my morning spiritual practice to meet my soul needs. I hope the wisdom helps you as much as it helps me. Who doesn’t love a dose of self-care, self-love, how-to? I sure do.

Hey, I’d love for ya’ll to help me get my vlog groove going, so if you have any requests about certain topics you’d like to hear me cover let me know! Leave a comment and I’ll respond over the weekend. Speaking of the weekend, have a lovely restful few days. I simply adore you!

Peace and vlogging,

Kris Carr

Yay!! I’m stoked that you’re doing vlogs, as I love watching videos about health and your energy and spirit just refresh me! Just, yay! :)

  3. Hi Kris – it is great to see you through the wonderful world of vlogs! Thank you for remembering all of your co-warriors out here – I am sure I am not the only one that needs to feel connected these days!

I was wondering if you had any thoughts on how one can stay on track with massive work deadlines without getting too stressed out and distracted/off track with the ‘ol health plans, physical up-keep, etc.?

    Thanks so much!

  4. Great to watch your vlog Kris!

  5. Lady:

Hurray for Vlog #1!! I’m getting the mutt, heading to the shore of the Hudson, and watching the sun come up: yes….I’m RESTING!!

I love you, woman. Corrine, too.

  6. Hi P – I loved your vlog and idea of a mini vacation! Love, M

HOW PROUD I am of YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love this Kris! I WANT to rest but the two babies have been up since 5:30 after being up ALL night long and won’t LET ME. But a green drink is in order! I love you i love you. Can’t wait to chat.oxoxoxox

  8. Great vlog — good length, too.

I totally trust your inner guidance for topics, but if you are looking for “food for thought” (pardon the pun) but I recently returned from Hippocrates and have gone raw, so I love thoughts on the raw diet, as well as how to incorporate exercise into your day (not yet a habit for me).

Thank you for all the positive influence you’ve had on my life!

  9. Kris…Topic to consider: How do you avoid intestinal parasites with all your travels? And; how do you eliminate parasites/yeast?

  10. It’s so good to see you here sunshine…. we have missed you!
I love your vlog, what a treat to hear your ideas and see you at the same time. About future vlog ideas… ANY wellness tips from you are better than diamonds.
    Have a great weekend,
love you soooo very much, xoxo

  11. I hope this will be the first of many Kris vlogs! What a great way to start the day : )

hey babe, the pink hair is my fav. Adore toi. rest is GOOD. did it last night, a big catch up! xoxo

  13. Hi Kris! I have been eating/drinking the greens for a bit now and have worked up a pretty good elevator speech for those who ask about the kale colored meals I bring with me wherever I go. But I’m looking for a few more thorough reads on why it’s crucial to balance the body’s PH level and choose this healthier lifestyle in general. Would a vlog on what you would consider a starter bookshelf (books, media, other resources) for the newbie juicer/vegan/health enthusiast be possible?

  14. Hey Kris!
So nice to see you – :) BTW – love the pink streak in your hair – you go girl! :) I watched your vlog this AM after taking a nice walk/run in the early AM sunshine – listened to the birds and watched the sun come up before the craziness of the day started. Rest is SO important – thanks for reminding us that is not a guilty pleasure – it is a necessity in order to really thrive! :)
Thanks for all your pearls of wisdom – you rock!
    Love ya – Jeanné

  16. Awesome-YOU ROCK!

Hi Kris…. love the vlog! It really touched home with me cos I’m having my last chemo today and I’ve been finding the chemo sessions (oddly!) relaxing ‘cos they’ve been forcing me to take “me” time… I was just thinking that it shouldn’t take that for me to create some “me” time!! Great idea about the mini vacation… also love your books/ website :)

  18. I love this vlog. What a great way to start the day. Thank you for sharing.

Kris, I have the exact same pink / red streak in my hair. I seem to recall now that you were going to do something for breast canser awareness but I had forgotten. I was amazed then, in a good way, when I saw it.

  19. Thanks for the support everyone! Love your ideas. I think I’m gonna get addicted to this. So fun, why did it take me so long?! Ha! xo

  20. This was great, Kris! Such a simple thing to do that we all forget sometimes.

    I can’t wait to see more v-logs! I love it! :) XOXOXOXO

  21. Your Vlog timing couldn’t be better for me! I have been following your story since your doc. and am literally starting my own vlogs in the coming weeks so to be able to watch yours from the grassroots stage will be inspiring.

    My topic question is:
For those of us that are faced with the challenges that go with living in areas that are slow on embracing this shift and culture, how do we cope with those moments of self doubt and pressure from old school mentality? In some ways it requires that much more energy to work around an outdated system. How do we keep the engine-room for our beliefs stoked with out burning out.

    Thrilled about this!

  22. Tina said on June 4, 2010

This is the best video EVER! : )

  23. Jackie,
Great question. I will mull that one over deeply. The first thing that comes to mind is faith. I trust myself and my knowledge (because I have done the work) so it’s impossible to undermine it. When old school mentality resists, lashes out, puts my ideas down I simply let the negativity roll off my back, no issues in the tissues. And I do this with grace – no pointing fingers or judgment. It’s never easy to pioneer new ways of living but it’s really worth it in the long run. This is why rest, rejuvenation and morning practice are so very important. I strengthen myself daily by tapping into my Divine energy. Does this make sense? I think we all take ourselves too seriously – it’s only kale for gosh sakes! Well, it’s not but you know what I mean, right? Love your ideas. xo

  24. I love the vlog…just pulled out my Louise hay power thought cards which I havent looked at in years..It said..FREEDOM IS MY DIVINE RIGHT…that is a good thought to ponder today…thank you

  25. Hi Kris: It’s great to see you and so fun to start the day with a positive message. Thank you for sharing and spreading your joy throughout the world.

  26. Loved the vlog. I think about 3 minutes to gently remind us or inform us is a WONDERFUL idea. I will ponder what other topics I’d like to see you vlog.

  27. Really looking forward to more vlogs from you!

    Keep the vlogs coming!

  39. Beautiful, beautiful Kris….
    thank you so much!
I wouldn’t ask for ANYONE to have cancer…..but if it wasn’t for that dreadful visitor chances are all of us would never have met! So there are a few good things that cancer brings into our lives!
YOU being near the top of my list: “Blessings from Cancer”
I feel very blessed again to see your sweet smile and sparkling eyes….another video! Hip! Hip! Hooray! Because I have SO worn out the others you have blessed us with. I play them over and over for inspiration and courage.
I praise your simple manner and values…a simple pint jar
for your smoothie, right up my alley! Nothing showy about you and that’s what helps us ALL relate with each other. My hubby has got quite smitten with you also. He watches your videos as much as I do. Of course, he’s the one with the ‘C’ visitor in his life right now. I have celiac and hishimoto dis-ease. So we travel our yellow brick road together…taking turns carrying each other. And with your expert help and uplifting attitude and terrific smile….it sure helps lighten our loads!
    Many blessings and prayers!

  40. Hi! (Oi!)

I just would like to thank you for sharing your way of life, and also to keep the faith ! I had a thyroid cancer, five years ago, and I am trying to live my best nowadays! As a part of my best I am trying to be a good vegetarian, but I know that it’s a long way…And you are a great teacher!Thank you! Thank you! I would like you could come to Brazil-Rio de Janeiro, so that you could teach some brazilian people that doens’t know yet that wonderful way of live..Thank you very much!God bless you always!

  41. Thanks for the video. I look forward to more. Would love to hear some advice on eating with friends, family, strangers at gatherings, etc. when you or they have a special diet. What works or doesn’t work for you?

  42. Tara said on June 4, 2010

Great first vlog! kepp em’ coming :)

  43. This is lovely thank you! I am turning more to extreme self care at the moment. I am interested in how to balance self care and healing with service to the world. I know that if I am as well as I can be I can help other more effectively but am struggling to balance dreams I want to live with the healing I need to do. I love this morning routine vlog, it was the ‘day in the life of Kris Carr’ in Fresh Magazine years ago, that we first heared about you and first inspired us on our healing journey. Thank you for this inspiration update! love Grace and Linus xxxxxx

  44. SAS-O-MATIC?

Oh and sass-o-matic is my new favorite word.

  47. EXACTLY what I needed to hear today. Amazing. And I’m so excited to see the PINK hair, I’m going to add that to my weekly adventures!

  48. lulu said on June 4, 2010

    How beautiful to see you.
I would love to hear you talk about how to take a challenging situation, or when you are having negative thoughts and what are the steos you go through to turn them around, to cast them out , to step out of that energy >>>
    Thank you

  49. Kris – I love your site and have bought a new juicer to go green! Keep up the great work.

  50. Kris the “Beautiful”

You rock! You are so…. inspirational! Breast cancer runs in my family, even though I am over 50 and lucky enough not to have gotten cancer I am actively trying to take charge of my health. Change is hard. I drink some raw smoothies and over the last 6 months have given up dairy entirely and only have 2 meat meals a week. I am in a cholesterol program and the numbers changed drastically (my doctor cant believe the change) the last 3 months when I seriously cut back on meat. So between no dairy and almost no meat I will continue on this path. Your short-n-sasy vlogs will add and additional inspiration so I can keep this up!
    Peace & Rest to all

  51. Kris, I love the vlog! Please keep them coming! Thanks for sharing your “Rest” card. That green drink sounds like a great idea too! You are so inspiring! :)

    Peace & Love!!

Frickin’ fantastic! I’m so very glad that you’re adding a vlog to the grand repertoire. Looking forward to the next!

How about this for a potential topic? – Tips for maintaining a veggie lifestyle while traveling or staying with relatives. I always find this so difficult! Any advice?

  53. Love vlog Kris!! You are so beautiful, and love how you are full of life. I am trying to find “me” time, and resting is very important, something else I am working on. Do you have tips for slowing down at night? I have a hard time falling asleep because I have so many thoughts running through my head.

Thanks for being so inspiring!! And I will have to check out those cards, I need some help in the mornings!!

  54. Thank you Kris for the great reminder to “rest”… I loved this and seeing/ hearing from you via the video blog and I did enjoy my green drink as well.. Happy Trails, Marina :)

    Hi there Kris,

Have been reading your blog for a while now and becoming very interested in a balanced, in-tune dynamic lifestyle. I feel a tipping point coming on. I echo some earlier comments – could you put together a beginner’s guide to wellness? I know it sounds like a huge task but books or sites that inspired you…. that would be amazing! thanks very much for your fantastic site.

  61. so very nice:) I am doing just that this am & please keep the Vblog’s coming Kris, you mean to much to all of us canser cowgirls!

Hi Kris wonderful vlog. I am also fighting cancer – fear especially grips me in the middle of the night – how about a vlog about getting a good night sleep and letting go of what I call “monkey mind”

  66. Thank you Kris. Love this! I agree with about the fear thing- when you are dealing with health problems and other things as well. You are always so uplifting. Thanks and make sure you get your rest too!

  67. Fear and sleep – that’s a great topic! Between the comments here and the ones on my FB fan page I have enough vlogs for the next year! For now I’ll start with one per week, each friday. How’s that? Next week – perfection…

  68. Ahhhh – perfection – what an awesome topic! Lord knows my perfectionistic self needs to hear that one! Glad we will get to see you weekly – sounds awesome!

  69. I would write a comment on how great the blog idea is for your site but I am too busy resting!! LOL :)

  70. Kris, Love the idea of the weekly Vlog..I will look forward to seeing you on Fridays and am interested to see what you have to say about perfection. I tend to be somewhat of a perfectionist and it can be exhausting. I’m trying to let go of some of it so that I have more time to rest. Easier said than done ( :

  71. Beth said on June 7, 2010
